I have 11 years of experience in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)
and Web usability. I am a member of BayCHI
and IxDA.
I am intimately familiar with a witch's brew of overlapping disciplines, including:
- user-centered design
- interaction design
- usability engineering
- information architecture
- user interface design
as well as some of the trendy
sub-disciplines such as search engine optimization (SEO).

I am the Founder of Animist.
My first product, a note-keeping service named Animist Notes,
was released in January 2008.
I single-handedly developed and still maintain (as CEO)
Worldisround,
a website for sharing travel photos (more than 6,000,000 photos and counting).
I am also a Meisner-trained
actor, a productivity geek, and I have this radical notion that
businesses should exist
to make peoples' lives better, rather than making the most money
possible by any means necessary.
