Contracts
I'm a big fan of getting everything in writing. Contracts
are not just a gesture of trust: the purpose of a contract is
to bring clarity to the project:
- what a project is or isn't
- logistics such as billing
- intellectual property
- allocating risk between client and contractor
- protecting both parties from taking advantage of each other
- acts of god
Basically, whenever you find yourself thinking "I'm afraid that X" then X should
be covered in the contract, to keep the work worry-free for both
parties.
